Suzanne O’Connell

Suzanne O’Connell is landscape architect and founding member of The Decorators,
a interdisciplinary design practice who design, produce and deliver community building interventions in regeneration areas. Over the past 5 years, Suzanne has led a number of The Decorators public realm projects. These include the renovation of ten shop fronts on Hoe street, Walthamstow, a moveable garden for Alexandra Palace and a Portas Pilot funded project at Chrisp Street, a research project aimed at promoting Chrisp Street market at the heart of the community in Poplar. Putting conversation at the heart, she ensures a design process that seeks to understand the existing assets of a place to deliver design solutions that unveil and celebrate the unique qualities of that place in order to inspire a process of change that retains local culture.
