Alex Loannou

Alex Loannou has dual nationality. He is both a Cypriot from Lefkosia (Nicosia) and a British national currently living in London. Having grown up and lived within the weaponised landscape of a divided island, Alex’s passion for landscape architecture finds its roots in trying to understand and question how individuals associate with, relate to, and exist within the surroundings they inherit, create or have imposed upon them. He believes that at the core of landscape architecture are the simple acts of observing, listening and discussing. This approach is integral to the work he does as a founding member of PNEVMA Collective (pnevmacollective.org).
